Dr. Randy Hedlun, Dean

 

Dr. Hedlun's paper titled A New Reading of Acts 18:24-19:7: Understanding the Ephesian Disciples Encounter as Social Conflict was published in the Religion and Theology Journal in 2010. His paper titled Rethinking Luke's Purpose: The Effect of First Century Social Conflict was published in 2013 in the Journal of Pentecostal Theology and received an award from the Foundation for Pentecostal Scholarship. Dr. Hedlun also contributed a chapter to A Biblical Theology of the Holy Spirit: Contemporary Issues in Pneumatology, published by Global University, 2009.

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Jim Richardson, Associate Dean / D.Min. Program Director

 

Dr. Richardson served as editor for A Biblical Theology of the Holy Spirit: Contemporary Issues in Pneumatology, a festschrift in honor of George M. Flattery, published by Global University, 2009. Dr. Richardson also contributed a chapter to this volume.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Kenn DeShane, Associate Dean

 

Dr. Kenn DeShane has been full-time with Global University since 2021 and has served as adjunct faculty since 1999. In addition to being Associate Dean, he also serves as the Chair of General Education. Prior to joining GU, he previously served in Northern Asia, and he and his wife pastored in Arkansas. Dr. DeShane also taught at Central Bible College, Middle Tennessee State University and Xi’an Jiaotong University. He has published several essays on contemporary folk religion and was a co-editor for A Brief History of American Literature with Selected Readings (2020), published by Xi’an Jiaotong University Press. He regularly travels to Africa to mentor students for Global University and is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Mirna Taracena, Associate Dean for Spanish Affairs

 

Mirna Taracena has been married to her best friend, Romeo, since 1997 and is mother to Sara and Caleb. Mirna has been a full-time minister since 2003 and has served as a college professor since 2015. She has also served as a pastor of a growing church in Guatemala City. Mirna has an MA in leadership and a Doctor of Ministry. She has been Associate Dean for Latin America for the Graduate Students for Global University since August 2021.
