Search Engines differ from databases in that they can search unstructured text on the open web, whereas a database stores and retrieves structured data only. Search engines allow you to search for information using natural language text.
Here you can search topics, and it will return relevant, reputable articles, journals, and research. Full texts are sometimes available, while others are behind paywalls on publishers' websites.
A general database of online journals that are freely available. Major subjects include arts, humanities, business, law, nature, science, medicine, and religion.
Using Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) to search may yield the most relevant results. Be sure to choose the SUBJECT search field from the drop-down list in Advanced Search. You can also search by keyword in the "All Text" or "Optional" fields.
